Tournier / Grizzles
Our Tournier family is designed for long distance and extreme long distance races. They are at their best when they are 3-5 years old. If one has the patience to handle them gently when they are young birds and yearlings, they will reward you with long distance excellence. They often fly well as young birds, but are much better when they fully mature. The cocks tend to be larger than medium, some are large, but their larger size does not prevent them from flying well under hard and extreme conditions. Additionally, they will do better, and fly for more years, on a diet of normal racing mix without the high fat content often given young birds and middle distance birds. If you need help at the distance, these birds will certainly help. As a bonus, many of these birds are grizzles. And it is always fun to have a pretty, and unique looking bird that is also an excellent flyer and breeder.

"Soloman" has become an excellent producer of "one-loft" racers. "Corky" was equal 1st at the 2004 America's King Cup 300 mile race (flown in Jan 2004). "White Gold""White Gold" is both an excellent flyer and breeder. Her youngsters both win races and bred winners. "Solomon""Solomon" AU-01-DTL-1773 is an outstanding breeding son of "Jos" and the "Witneus". "Jos" was the 1st Ace Pigeon Extreme Long Distance, Antwerpt Union, in 1999. The "Witneus" is the full brother to 2nd National Perpignan. This is a long distance performance pair and they bred winners. "Solomon" was the sire of equal 1st at 300 miles in the 2004 America's King Cup Race. In 2006 he was the sire of our 1st Club Champion bird that was also 3rd Texas Center Hall of Fame in the 11-15 loft category. Her nest brother has also been equal 1st 3 x's. NEW: In 2007 "Solomon's" son was the 4th Ace Pigeon in the Winner's Cup and was 10th in the 400 mile race. We polygomus breed him. He is an outstanding breeder and clearly one of our "Super Stars"!! "Vindication""Vindication" is a son of Jimmy Brands' outstanding cock the "Tamme". "Tamme" was the 1st Ace Pigeon, Extreme Long Distance, KBDB, Antwerp Union in 2000, the same year Jimmy won the Extreme Long Distance, KBDB, Champion Loft. "Incredulous""Incredulous" AU-02-DTL-2213 is a daughter of "Trademark" and "Mandy". In the 2002 YB series she was our 1st bird 3 weeks in a row and was leading the combine for Champion bird. The 4th week she returned on Wednesday with all the feathers and skin ripped off of her entire brest. I do not know how she was able to fly. We were not sure she would live. She obviously did live and ended up the 2nd place Champion bird having only clocked in the first three races. She is Tournier, combining the Jimmy Brand's and Van Den Plas families, and demonstrates their determination and tenacity to return home...usually very quickly! Children: $250 - $750 |

"Witneus" (White Nose)The "Witneus" is one of those birds that you immediately love. She is Tournier, bred by Jos Van Olmen. She was the original mate of "Jos" the 1st Ace Extreme Long Distance Champion of the Antwerp Union in 1999. She handles like a 'million bucks' and has been outstanding. She has been a breeder of both winners and birds that breed winners. Her full brother was 1st Provincial, 2nd National v. 8, 041 birds from Perpignan. He lost by 4 minutes and was actually fouind in the trap in the morning, having apparently been there all night. It's a pigeon story, but Jos Van Omen was sick to realize he had a 1st National winner and because he had not checked the traps when he came home from playing cards with other fanciers, he was 2nd. |

"Crack 711""Crack 711" was 5 X's 1st with 44 prizes in 4 years (no doubling). He was 32 X's in the top 10%. He was the 8th Provincial Ace Pigeon Middle Distance, KBDB, in 1998. "Crack 711" is a breeder of breeders. One of his best mates was "Ariel". We are breeding from 3 of their children. He also bred the 13th National Ace Young Bird in "De Reisduif" for Serge Van Elsacker; a 1st from 200 miles, and a 3rd from 400 miles, plus other equal 1st positions for DTL. |

"Triple Play" was named for his flying performance. He was only entered in 4-races over a 2-season period. He won 3-races and was 12th in the 4th race.
